Finish What You Start

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." -Philippians 1:6

God places ideas on our hearts that we sometimes turn out to be really passionate about. We get started on the task that God has placed upon us and all of a sudden, we get to a point where we stop. The reasons for our lack of finishing tasks can vary. We may stop because of distraction, or lack of motivation, but we have to be reminded that mind games that cause us to give up on our aspirations are of the enemy.

When God places something good down inside of you, you have to keep your guard up because you will be the target of a plan that Satan will conspire. Whenever you are doing something to glorify the kingdom of God, you will face different kinds of attacks. Some of these attacks come from people that are closest to you that have an influence in your life. Because of their influence, we tend to believe the things they tell us. If they plant the idea that whatever we are trying to do is impossible or a waste of time/money, then we will believe these things and succumb to the enemy's plan to make us stop doing what God has told us to start doing.

When God begins a work in you, be confident that He will carry out his plan, as it says in Philippians. God does not make promises that he does not keep. I, personally, have been of victim of starting a task, and leaving it incomplete out of fear of failure, or lack of outside motivation. I have to remind myself of why I am doing what I am doing. The answer to that question is enough motivation for me to never give up on the works that God has placed inside of me. Stay true to your journey, for the race you are running may not be for you, but to help someone else in the long run.
