Many people have a desire to be rich. I do too, but I have come to the realization that I am already wealthy. Once you mature in your relationship with God, and realize what all he does for you that he does not have to do, you will come to find out that wealth is not determined by money, but by where your soul is.
Money is just the byproduct of wealth. You become wealthy when you become full in Christ and live a life full of joy, peace, and happiness. When you realize that God has supplied all of your needs, you will see that you are already rich in Christ. A million dollars will not make you rich if your spirit does not match. Do you know that there are many millionaires who are unhappy? You may be thinking, "How could this be? They have all the money you could ask for." Money is not the root of happiness. It will not make your problems go away. Many people with money do not have a relationship with God, and this is what is causing them to feel empty.
I do not want you to get so caught up in chasing wealth to where you forget to chase God. Chase God first, and the blessing will follow. Everyone is not destined to be a millionaire. If you are too caught up on money, you are missing the goodness God is allowing you to experience everyday in life. The Bible teaches us not to love money.
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." - 1 Timothy 6:10 NIV.
Notice the word says they have pierced themselves with many griefs. "What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" - Mark 8:36 NIV. Becoming rich in money is not worth you soul. Trust me when I say this. There is life after the one we are currently living, and the temporary pleasure of wealth is not worth losing your eternal inheritance. God will give you exactly what he wants you to have. I am not saying that it is wrong to want more for yourself and your family. I of course want more, but if God does not supply me with anything else, I can truly say that He has done enough, and I will forever be grateful.
The blessing will come. You have to chase God in order to receive the blessing he has waiting for you. You cannot sit around and do nothing, you have to commit your works onto the Lord and be patient. Prepare yourself for that you have been praying for. It is coming. You just have to have faith and stay committed to your journey. Riches will come in the form in which God wants you to have them. Whether it be money, peace, or happiness, remember, you are already rich once you accept God as your Lord and Savior.
